About Doug Shaddix

Doug Shaddix grew up in the Atlanta area and received his undergraduate degree in Political Science at Georgia State University. After graduation, he worked for a Congressman while attending law school. Upon the election of President Reagan, he put his legal education on hold to move to Washington, D.C. for eight years where he served in the Reagan Administration working in International Trade at the Department of Commerce and at the Republican National Committee as "Specialist, Coalition Development".
After the Reagan years, Doug returned to Atlanta to complete his law degree, cum laude, and spent several years with the Atlanta-based law firm of King & Spalding working in the area of products liability litigation.

He left there and created his own firm, Asset Shields, LLC, where he practices in the areas of Asset Protection, Estate Planning and entity formation. His firm specializes in setting up corporations and limited liability companies, Family Limited Partnerships as well as various trusts such as Revocable Living Trusts, Land Trusts, Charitable Remainder Trusts and Personal Property Trusts for clients with Asset Protection and Estate Planning needs.
Doug is an active member of the community, having served as Chairman of the Cobb Board of Elections and the Cobb County Board of Ethics. He has held positions with the State Bar, with his alma mater, and leadership positions with his political party and with his church. Doug has been married for over 35 years and is the proud father of 3 near perfect daughters.
His driving interests are his family, sports and politics.
